The people who get upset about things on tumblr are the same people who get upset about things in real life because GUESS WHAT: THIS IS REAL LIFE. WE’RE REAL PEOPLE. THE THINGS YOU SAY ARE REAL THINGS THAT HAVE REAL MEANINGS AND A REAL IMPACT.

Words don’t suddenly mean less because they’re on a website. The things people do and say online aren’t suddenly CONSEQUENCE-FREE just because they don’t happen face-to-face. I don’t understand how you can think this. Like. I just. I mean I can’t even come up with a way to dispute the reasoning because I fundamentally cannot understand how you think a word written on the internet somehow is less real and has less meaning than that same word spoken. How do you think an attitude expressed online is different than that attitude expressed offline? How do you think people develop completely different personas to use online?

No one does that. What some people do is use the internet to let all the ugly shit they hide inside themselves because they know, on some level, it’s wrong just spew out all over everywhere because they think the internet is a consequences-free zone for some reason, but that’s because they’re actually shitty people. Someone who acts like a shithead online isn’t going to be a total angel who doesn’t think or do anything wrong offline. People don’t act like that.

So it’s just. I can’t even. ?????????? WHat’s wrong with you people? How is this hard to grasp?

THINGS YOU DO AND SAY ONLINE HAVE EVERY BIT AS MUCH MEANING AND IMPACT AS THINGS YOU DO AND SAY OFFLINE. IT’S NOT HARD.

So ‘tumblr’ isn’t overly sensitive, you’re just fucking douchebags. You’re douches and you’ve finally revealed your inner douchiness in a forum where a bunch of people who AREN’T your personal friends can see it and they have absolutely no reason to NOT tell you what a shitheel you are. That’s not them being oversensitive. If no one ever gets your ‘jokes’ or likes what you have to say it’s not a case of ‘OMG TUMBLR IS SO SENSITIVE’, you’re just a fucking asshole.
